Dalmia embarked on the manufacture of sugar
in the mid-Nineties and set up its unit Ramgarh Chini Mills
(Distt. Sitapur) U.P. The installed capacity then in 1994
was 2500 TCD (tonnes cane crushing per day, which has now
further been expanded to 7500 TCD From a single sugar-manufacturing unit we have grown to three operational units with total installed capacity of 22500 tons of cane crush per day leading to sugar manufacturing of about 300,000 MT per annum. With cogen capacity
of 79MW+ & distillery capacity of 80 KL per day being added
it is a forward integrated manufacturing set up.
The manufacture and sale of sugar accounts for a major part
of Dalmia’s revenue and it aims to build deep capabilities
in this segment. The sugar manufacturing plant incorporates
state-of-the-art technology that ensures high productivity.
With further expansions also been carried
out adopting latest technologies, we are one of the very
few sugar mills who have ushered in the new technologies
in business. Installation of constant torque drives for
mills, using PLC for mill & boilers. Fuzzy logic system
for pan boiling has been introduced for the first time in
the world sugar industry with complete success in pan boiling
which has given considerable advantage in obtaining consistent
lower purity of final molasses and reduced losses in the
process with increased productivity. The various process
parameters are monitored using advanced instruments, which
give instant information so that corrective action can be
taken instantaneously in the interest of consistent sugar
quality.
Due to emphasis on quality throughout the
process, we produce high quality of sugar both in terms
of grain size and colour, which leads to better realisation
in comparison to competitors.
Furthermore, we have become a name to reckon
in the market. The company is active to the needs of its
customers. It has generated goodwill and confidence, which
in turn has ensured better realisation.
