Dalmia Cement (Bharat) Limited ropes-in Ex Lafarge CEO, Ujjwal Batria as Chief Operating Officer

June 27, 2018: Dalmia Cement (Bharat) Limited today announced the appointment of Mr. Ujjwal Batria as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the company. As a part of his new role Ujjwal will lead the company’s operations of sales & marketing, logistics, manufacturing and technical services departments.

Commenting on the appointment, Mr. Mahendra Singhi, Group CEO & Whole Time Director – Dalmia Cement (Bharat) Limited, said “We continue to strengthen our leadership team and are pleased to have Mr. Ujjwal on board to head our manufacturing, sales & marketing and logistics teams. Mr. Ujjwal, an alumnus from Birla Institute of Technology, brings along 33 years of experience in the building materials industry, with a keen focus on structuring of teams, safe and timely project delivery, and realization of corporate objectives. He joins Dalmia Cement from Nuvoco Vistas Corp Ltd (formerly Lafarge India Limited) where he was the CEO and handled Cement, RMX and aggregates. Prior to this, he has been associated with Tata Steel (Cement Division), Century Textiles & Industries Limited (Cement Division) and Eicher Motors and has held key leadership positions.

Mr. Ujjwal’s appointment is a part of the organization’s continuous effort to build strategic leadership team for its various growth initiatives.
