Shillong, October 22, 2025: In a continued effort to bridge the skill gap and promote employability among youth, Dalmia Bharat Foundation (DBF), the CSR arm of Dalmia Bharat Ltd celebrated the success of the 2nd Batch of its Beauty Care course. During the Jaintia Eastern College Graduation Day ceremony, 30 trainees from the DIKSHa Lumshnong Centre were awarded their training completion certificates, marking their dedication and newly acquired skills.
The event was graced by Shri Kyrmen Shylla, Hon’ble MLA, 6 - Khliehriat Constituency, as the Chief Guest, and Shri Padmanav Chakravarty, Unit Head, DCBL Meghalaya as the Guest of Honour along with other notable dignitaries. In his address, the Hon’ble MLA congratulated the candidates and extended his best wishes for their future endeavors. He also appreciated the efforts of Dalmia Bharat Foundation for its impactful work in the region.
Commenting on the completion of training of the 2nd batch, Mr. Padmanav Chakravarty, Unit Head, DCBL Meghalaya Dalmia Cement (Bharat) Limited shared, “Dalmia Bharat remains committed to empowering local communities by nurturing talent and promoting inclusive growth. I extend my heartfelt congratulations to all the trainees on successfully completing their course. Through DIKSHa, we aim to equip the youth of Meghalaya with industry-relevant skills that open doors to meaningful livelihood opportunities.”
Dalmia Bharat Foundation-led DIKSHa is a placement-linked, short-term skill training program for youth and women, enabling them to become part of the skilled workforce. Currently, 30 DIKSHa centres operate across India, offering training in sectors such as healthcare, beauty therapy, electrical work, data entry, and solar installation. To date, over 25,000 youth have been trained under the program, with approximately 75% securing employment or becoming self-employed. Notably, over half the trainees are women, reflecting DIKSHa’s emphasis on inclusive development.
