Dalmia Bharat Foundation Empowers 33 Rural Households in Sattur with Sustainable Livelihood Support

Madurai, February 25, 2026: Dalmia Bharat Foundation (DBF), the CSR arm of Dalmia Cement (Bharat) Limited, organised a beneficiary support initiative at Sattur under its flagship Gram Parivartan programme, to enhance household income through focused livelihood interventions. As part of the programme, 30 rural households were supported with one milch animal each to promote dairy farming as a sustainable source of income. The intervention is projected to generate an additional annual income of approximately ₹55,000 per household, ensuring financial stability and long-term livelihood security. The Foundation also extended micro-enterprise support to three households to promote grassroots entrepreneurship and local economic activity, including a Grocery Shop and a Batter Making Unit. Each beneficiary household is expected to earn around ₹1,00,000 annually, boosting incomes and promoting sustainable self-employment.

Till date, DBF has covered over 952 households, in Sattur region, identifying viable income-generating opportunities in close coordination with the community to ensure sustainable impact.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr T Robert, Unit Head, DCBL, Sattur said: “At Dalmia Bharat, our focus is on creating sustainable and scalable livelihood models that empower rural households to achieve long-term economic stability. Through our Gram Parivartan initiative at Sattur, we are witnessing a meaningful transition, from subsistence living to structured income generation, from limited opportunities to diversified livelihood options.”
