Dalmia Bharat Foundation Inaugurates Tailoring Training Centre in Bokaro to Strengthen Women's Livelihood Opportunities

Bokaro, August 20, 2026: Reinforcing its commitment to inclusive development and sustainable livelihoods, Dalmia Bharat Foundation (DBF), the CSR arm of Dalmia Bharat Ltd., inaugurated a Tailoring Training Centre at Bishnupur village under Gorawali South Panchayat in Bokaro today. A total of 50 women across two batches are currently undergoing hands-on training programme at the centre. The programme aims to equip participants with practical tailoring skills that can be used to pursue stitching assignments, home-based work and overtime, small tailoring enterprises. Upon completion of the training, participants can potentially earn up to ₹6,000 per month, helping them contribute to household incomes and strengthen their financial independence. The centre is part of DBF’s ongoing women skilling programme, which is being implemented across multiple centres in India to expand access to vocational training for women.

Commenting on the initiative, Mr. Sunil Kumar Bhusari, Unit Head – Bokaro, Dalmia Cement (Bharat) Limited said, “Tailoring serves as an accessible livelihood opportunity that can be pursued with relatively low entry barriers and within local communities. When women have the skills and opportunities to contribute to household and community economies, the benefits extend beyond individual families. It supports the growth of our nation too. Through our skilling initiatives, we aim to enable more women to participate in and contribute to the growth of their communities.”

The centre was inaugurated by Mr. Prakash Mishra, LDM, Bokaro, in the presence of senior representatives from the district administration, banking and development institutions, including; Mr. Sudip Sinha, GM, DIC, Bokaro; Mrs. Surina, DDM, NABARD, Bokaro; and Ms. Neha Parashar, Director, JSS, Bokaro. The programme was also attended by Mr. Sanjay Jha, HR-Head, DCBL Bokaro; Mr. Vinod Kumar Singh, Technical Head, DCBL Bokaro, and other officials. Mr. Ganesh Thakur, Mukhiya and PRI Representative, graced the occasion as the Special Invitee.
