Dalmia Bharat Foundation Launches Rural Women Skill Development Initiative Across Uttar Pradesh Under Gram Parivartan Project

Lucknow, August 6, 2026: Dalmia Bharat Foundation (DBF), the CSR arm of Dalmia Bharat Ltd., has launched a dedicated rural women's skill development initiative under its Gram Parivartan Project. As part of the initiative, Domestic Tailoring Training Centres have commenced operations across Jawaharpur, Nigohi, Ramgarh and Hardoi in Uttar Pradesh from 1 August 2026, with over 120 rural women enrolled in the inaugural batch and has an annual training capacity of 240 women. The initiative reflects DBF's continued commitment to fostering inclusive rural development by enabling women to build skills, pursue entrepreneurship and participate more actively in the economic growth of their communities.

Commenting on the initiative, Mr. Ashok Gupta, CEO, Dalmia Bharat Foundation, said: "Rural India has immense entrepreneurial potential, and women have an important role to play in shaping stronger local economies. By combining vocational training with entrepreneurship and financial literacy, we aim to equip women with the confidence and capabilities to create sustainable sources of income. We believe that when women thrive economically, the impact extends beyond individual households to strengthen families, communities and the rural economy as a whole."

The training programme is aligned with the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) framework and combines practical tailoring skills with entrepreneurship development, financial literacy, customer relationship management and basic business planning. By integrating vocational and business-oriented learning, the programme equips participants to pursue self-employment, establish micro-enterprises or access wage employment opportunities. Designed with long-term sustainability in mind, the training centres have been established using existing community infrastructure made available free of cost. This community-led approach encourages local participation while ensuring an efficient and scalable delivery model.

The initiative has also been introduced at DBF project locations in Kalyanpur, Bokaro and Midnapore. In addition to Domestic Tailoring, Beauty & Wellness courses will be introduced in the coming months to broaden livelihood opportunities and respond to local market needs. Building on this momentum, DBF plans to expand the programme to 18 training centres across its project locations, creating an annual training capacity of more than 1400 rural women.
