Chennai, March 17, 2026: Dalmia Bharat Foundation (DBF), the CSR arm of Dalmia Cement (Bharat) Limited, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Schneider Electric India Foundation to enhance vocational training capacity and quality in the fields of electricity and automation. The four-year partnership, effective from January 1, 2026 to December 31, 2029, will focus on strengthening technical education infrastructure across Government Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs).

Under this collaboration, 30 modern electrical training laboratories will be established across Government ITIs in 20 districts of Tamil Nadu, with an expected outreach of over 11,000 youth across trades including electrical, electronics, wireman, fitter, refrigeration and air conditioning (RAC) technician, and solar technician. In addition, 8 more Government ITIs will be refurbished or upgraded across other states— 1 in Odisha, 2 in Gujarat, 1 in Telangana, 1 in Jharkhand, and 3 in Karnataka—bringing the total number of ITIs supported under this partnership to 38

Under the partnership, SEIF will provide curriculum support, monitoring and evaluation frameworks, MIS tools, Training of Trainers (ToT), guest lectures by subject matter experts, and employment support to strengthen placement outcomes for trainees. DBF will lead on-ground implementation, including coordination with Government ITIs, procurement and installation of equipment, infrastructure setup, and ensuring compliance with statutory and operational requirements.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Ashok Gupta, CEO, Dalmia Bharat Foundation, said, “Technical education must continuously evolve to keep pace with industry advancements. This partnership enables us to modernise training infrastructure across Government ITIs while integrating structured industry expertise into the learning framework. Our focus is on ensuring that students graduate with practical, job-ready competencies aligned with current and emerging demands.”

The collaboration strengthens DBF’s broader skilling agenda by expanding access to upgraded infrastructure and institutional capacity-building across multiple states. Building on its ongoing work with 38 Government ITIs and structured skilling programmes across India, the Foundation continues to advance systemic improvements that enhance both training quality and employability outcomes within the vocational ecosystem.
