Dalmia Bharat Marks International Women’s Day with Community Celebrations in Assam

Guwahati, March 10, 2026: Dalmia Cement (Bharat) Limited (DCBL), one of India’s leading cement manufacturers, celebrated International Women’s Day at its Jagiroad and Lanka units in Assam, bringing together over 750 women from Self-Help Groups across neighbouring communities.

At the Jagiroad unit, around 450 women participated in the celebrations, which began with a vibrant roadshow followed by a nukkad natak highlighting social awareness and the importance of women’s participation in community life. The programme concluded with a cultural event recognising the contributions and achievements of the participating women.

At the Lanka unit, nearly 300 women from 17 Self-Help Groups gathered at Gosaigaon village for a community programme supported by the Dalmia Bharat Foundation (DBF), the CSR arm of Dalmia Cement (Bharat) Limited. The event featured a health awareness session focused on women’s well-being, followed by a tree plantation drive during which 50 saplings were planted. Community activities such as Tug of War, Pukhuri Par, and Blindfold Duck Catching added a festive spirit to the celebrations.

The event was graced by Shri Rajesh Kumar Srivastava, Unit Head, DCBL Lanka; Shri Mrinal Baruah, HR Head; Dr. Manoj Kumar Baishya; and Smt. Sarika Srivastava, President, Ladies Club.
