Dalmia Bharat Celebrates World Environment Week Through Community-Led Sustainability Initiatives in Dalmiapuram

Dalmiapuram, June 5, 2026: Underscoring its commitment to environmental sustainability and community well-being, Dalmia Bharat Ltd., one of India's leading cement companies, observed World Environment Week 2026 in in in Dalmiapuram through a series of employee engagement, environmental awareness, and community outreach initiatives aimed at promoting sustainability and environmental responsibility. The celebrations brought together employees, their families, local communities, students, and members of the Ladies Club, encouraging collective action towards environmental conservation and sustainable living.

The week-long celebrations commenced with a range of employee-focused activities, including badge distribution, gate meetings, flag hoisting, oath-taking ceremonies, awareness campaigns, an online environmental quiz, and a sustainability message delivered by the Unit Head, Mr. K Vinayagamurthi reinforcing the importance of environmental stewardship across the workforce. Employees actively participated in tree plantation drives within the plant premises and at the mines, contributing to the enhancement of green cover and biodiversity conservation.

Extending the celebrations beyond the workplace, Dalmia Bharat organized a tree plantation drive in a nearby community village and undertook a cleanliness drive at a government school, promoting environmental awareness and community participation. The company also inaugurated a new check dam in a neighbouring village, supporting water conservation efforts and strengthening local water infrastructure. Throughout the World Environment Week celebrations, a series of essay, slogan and poster competitions were conducted for employees, their children and members of the Ladies Club, encouraging sustainability practices.

These initiatives were designed to encourage collective action towards environmental conservation, strengthen community partnerships, and foster a culture of sustainability among employees and local stakeholders.
