Trichy, March 14, 2026: Dalmia Bharat Foundation (DBF), the CSR arm of Dalmia Cement (Bharat) Limited, organized a community development programme in Ariyalur under its Gram Parivartan and DIKSHa initiatives, benefiting around 150 community members through targeted support for skill development, micro-enterprise, and agriculture.
As part of the initiative, certificates were awarded to 30 trainees who completed Aari embroidery training, enabling them to undertake home-based income activities. Artisan Identity Cards were distributed to 84 women trained in palm leaf basket making, facilitating their access to formal markets and livelihood opportunities. To further support self-employment, micro-enterprise assistance was provided to 7 beneficiaries to help them establish or expand small businesses. In addition, 23 farmers received fuel-operated sprayers to improve efficiency in crop management and field operations.
Speaking on the initiative, Mr. Priya Ranjan, Unit Head, said, “Strengthening livelihoods in rural areas requires sustained support across skills, enterprise development, and agriculture. Through Gram Parivartan and DIKSHa, we are working closely with communities to create practical income opportunities that can improve household stability and long-term well-being. Such initiatives are an important step towards building self-reliant villages around our operational areas.
The programme forms part of DBF’s ongoing efforts under Gram Parivartan and DIKSHa, which adopt a holistic approach to rural development across villages surrounding Dalmia Bharat’s operations. While Gram Parivartan focuses on improving household incomes through agriculture, livelihoods, and community development, DIKSHa emphasises skill training and capacity building to enhance employability and entrepreneurship. Together, these initiatives aim to strengthen economic resilience and improve quality of life for local communities in Ariyalur and beyond
