Dalmia Bharat Foundation signs MoU for DIKSHa Centre

~Skill Training Centre in Kadapa, Andhra Pradesh to upskill 360 youth annually for Sustainable Livelihood~

Kadapa, Andhra Pradesh, 23 November 2022: Dalmia Bharat Foundation (DBF), the CSR arm of Dalmia Bharat Ltd., has signed an MoU with Andhra Pradesh State Skill Development Corporation (APSSDC) to set up its new Dalmia Institute of Knowledge and Skill Harnessing – DIKSHa center in Kadapa, Andhra Pradesh. This will be adding to Dalmia Bharat Foundation’s existing network of 15h centres in India. The MoU was signed today by Dr. Satya Narayana, IAS, Managing Director, APSSDC and Dr. Arvind Bodhankar, Executive Director, Dalmia Bharat Limited. This initiative is DBF’s reinforcement of its commitment to India’s next generation workforce. 

The Kadapa DIKSHa center will train youth in construction related skills, ITES and Healthcare Sector, with an initial annual training capacity of 360 trainees. The DIKSHa centre will be based out of Government Polytechnic College, Jamallamadgu, YSR Kadapa District, Andhra Pradesh. The DIKSHa centre is exemplary of nation building partnership between the private and government sector. DBF shall design and develop courses and in construction sector, ITES and health care. This would be customized as per industrial requirement for the benefit of the students and unemployed youth specific to the region. In terms of staffing, the DIKSHa centre will have pre-qualified and professional trainers for offering quality skill trainings recruited by DBF. The trainee and trainer modules will be designed as per the National Skill Qualification Framework (NSQF).

Special focus will be given to train unemployed youth registered with FIRST PARTY in Construction sector/ITES/Health sector to bridge the skill gap and make them industry ready. For hands-on industry readiness, interactions with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) / Industrial experts will be organised. They will also facilitate the assessment and certification process and offer Joint Certification along with providing placement assistance to the trained candidates across the country.
