Plant Introduces Multiple Citizen-centric Initiatives to Combat New COVID Wave

Rajgangpur, Orissa, January 13, 2022: In light of the current healthcare emergency sweeping the nation, Dalmia Cement (Bharat) Limited (DCBL) has launched a, free of charge, virtual Out Patient Department (OPD) in Rajgangpur. The online Doctor-to-Patient OPD service provides uninterrupted health services to town residents affected by the pandemic. Both, COVID patients and those at risk, can connect with specialist doctor over video conferencing and obtain medical treatment and advice for health-related concerns.

The virtual OPD service is in addition to the medical services already being offered at DCBL Rajgangpur plant’s primary healthcare clinic, Spandan. The plant is also helping employees raise their immunity level with its mindfulness meditation drive. Employees can now join the plant’s virtual yoga sessions, scheduled twice daily, to boost the immunity and mental wellness.

Ensuring the safety of its 5000 plus employees and family members across neighbouring villages, DCBL Rajgangpur plant’s COVID taskforce and social media groups are monitoring pandemic-related activities more closely. DCBL is also systematically sanitizing all its units across nation.

• Scanning at the gates to restrict outsiders from entering the plant premises.
• Tracking the health status of transporters, supervisors as well as employees working inside the plant on a daily basis
• Contactless and Paperless movement of vehicles right from the parking yard till the weigh-bridge crossing has commenced.
• Door-to-door delivery service facilitations for essential goods so as to avoid logistical issues for employees adhering to strict COVID-19 guidelines set by the state government.
• Putting in place readiness and contingency plans at the colony in case of imminent lockdowns.
• Facilitating medical checkups at DCBL’s health center, Spandan for those with symptoms, and providing recommendation to Rajgangpur Government Hospital, for RTPCR testing.
• Ensuring Section In-Charges of the plant interact with teams to continuously boost morale and reduce the spread of panic by following norms at all places.
• Advocating for mask-on, social distancing, isolation and quarantine guidelines to be followed while helping shift employees with severe symptopms to COVID hospitals in Sundergarh and Rourkela after consulting with local administration.
