Vinay Cement Ltd. hosts 10th Mines Environment & Mineral Conservation Week in Guwahati

Guwahati, 16th July 2019: Vinay Cement Limited, a subsidiary of Dalmia Cement (Bharat) Limited hosted the final day function of the “10th Mines Environment & Mineral Conservation Week, 2018-19” under the aegis of Indian Bureau of Mines (IBM). The event happened in Guwahati today at the GMCH Auditorium, Guwahati. Various participating mines were recognized and awarded for their efforts towards environment protection, mineral conservation and sustainable development.

Mr P K Bhattacharjee, Regional Controller of Mines, Indian Bureau of Mines, Guwahati graced this august occasion with his auspicious presence. A total of 13 cement companies participated this year.

This year the awards were given under nine categories – Afforestation / Plantation; Waste Dump Management & Reclamation; Systematic & Scientific Development; Mineral Conservation; Reclamation & Rehabilitation; Mineral Beneficiation; Environmental Monitoring; Sustainable Development and Publicity & Propaganda.

The 10th Mines Environment & Mineral Conservation (ME&MC) Week 2018-19, was celebrated from 11th February 2019 to 17th February 2019 in the mines falling under the jurisdiction of Indian Bureau of Mines, Guwahati Region. The weeklong celebration created awareness regarding environment and mineral conservation among mining fraternity of the entire North East region.
